Oh, I forgot Nirvana. They're possibly the most overrated band on earth.

Yeah, I don't know what is so damn good about them. I mean, I like 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and 'Come As You Are' but they're nothing special at all.

I liked Smells Like Teen Spirit for about less than a week, 3 years ago.

The Beach Boys. To be honest, I hardly liked nothing about Pet Sounds.
Nothing. Maybe the last fifty seconds of "God Only Knows".

I'm Gonna agree about Death Cab for Cutie, Beach Boys, and GNR. Nirvana lacks musical talent (except Dave Grohl), but they still sound good (especially if you avoid SLTS). I disagree with the rest, especially Iron Maiden. Here's mine: Judas Priest Dio Live Nickelback Matchbox 20 Pretty much any band that formed prior to 1998

Matchbox 20? They're one of my favourite bands, I actually think they're pretty underrated.

I hat Rob Thomas' voice. Nickelback is a bad Soundgarden imitation, packaged to be good for radio. There's plenty of Sondgarden/Pearl Jam/Nirvana imitators out there (Creed, Seven Mary Three, Hinder, Bush, early Silverchair...)

Agreed with Inamon. The Beach Boys suck.

I personally don't think The Beach Boys or Nirvana are overrated at all. The Beach Boys (along with the Beatles) basically shaped popular music today. Without them we wouldn't have pop music. And Nirvana popularized the grunge movement which influenced many of the rock bands we see today. The musical landscape would be very very different without these two bands and I think they deserve the praise they get.
As for bands I think are overrated: Nickelback, Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Beyonce. I know most of them aren't bands but eh

I'm not a 'Boys Basher, I just find their material to be far too complex and the harmony doesn't really fit my style.
