Have you ever seen a remake that was better than the original? What are your favourite and least favourite remakes/retellings?
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory would probably be my favourite. Unfortunately, most remakes I've seen have been crappy. Ones like Yours, Mine & Ours, House of Wax, Planet of the Apes, etc etc.

I preferred the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory by a mile. Damn, there's heaps of remakes I know of, but haven't seen. I'd have to say The Amityville Horror remake was way better than the original. I've also heard the Batman remakes (Batman Begins, and recently, The Dark Knight) were a lot better than the original 'Batman', 'Batman Returns', 'Batman Forever' and 'Batman & Robin'. Just to help people out, here is a list of film remakes: A-MN-Z

I prefer the original Willy Wonka, but the second one was still good.

Yes, I prefer the original Willy Wonka too, I'm just saying the remake was quite good.
